This course provides a foundational understanding of the core components of Power Virtual Agents, Power Automate, and Power Apps, with a high-level overview of Power BI. The curriculum is based on a real-world process I previously managed manually for a former employer. We will construct a Power App using Microsoft Power Apps to monitor tasks associated with new home constructions, storing the data in SharePoint for simplicity. Subsequently, we will leverage Power Virtual Agents to guide users on enabling bots within Microsoft Teams, directing them to documents that may be dispersed across various SharePoint sites, such as loan agreements, budgets, and sales contracts. I believe these bots offer significant value for HR and IT teams in addressing repetitive inquiries. I will also demonstrate how to configure simple flows in Power Automate to automatically save attachments from specific senders (in our course example, saving attachments from bank-organized unit inspections). Additionally, we will cover simple flows that capture data from Microsoft Forms into SharePoint and establish fully automated processes using the Approvals app in Microsoft Teams. After completing the app, bot, and flow components, the final phase involves creating a straightforward Power BI report. We will use Power Automate to distribute a snapshot of the table containing the most recently completed tasks every two weeks to a designated recipient (in this case, the bank). This report will request a drawdown, including the completion dates of the tasks and their corresponding budget amounts, all of which are captured within the app. Please note that this course is intentionally high-level. I recommend utilizing ChatGPT for more technical aspects, such as coding or formulas in Power Apps. However, the course does cover this topic, demonstrating how to effectively leverage ChatGPT to assist with Power Apps formulas.
