Through a blend of lectures, demonstrations, and interactive labs, this course illustrates the foundations for creating and maintaining an Enterprise Architecture (EA) using the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) version 1.2.

Objective : This course is designed to assist participants in effectively applying the UAF and NAF enterprise architecture frameworks in practice.

A solid understanding of UAF 1.1 concepts within the context of the NATO NAF v4 Architecture Framework proves highly advantageous. The Domain Meta-model (DMM) of UAF outlines various stakeholder concerns related to a system—such as security, information, or measurement metrics—via a set of predefined viewpoints, which are subsequently mapped to the corresponding views in NAFv4.

Conversely, the Architecture Stages of the NATO NAFv4 Methodology facilitate the efficient utilization of UAF views. UPDM is an initiative by the Object Management Group (OMG) aimed at creating a modeling standard that supports both the USA Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and the UK Ministry of Defence Architecture Framework (MODAF). This modeling standard is known as the Unified Profile for DoDAF and MODAF (UPDM).

This course targets business analysts, managers, team leaders, and process owners, equipping them with the essential skills to develop use case diagrams and scenarios. These tools facilitate the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and communication of functional requirements. Participants will gain hands-on experience in constructing use cases using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) to visually depict interactions between actors and use cases.
