Day 1: Introduction to ISO/IEC 27001 and initiating an ISMS

Day 2: Planning the ISMS implementation process

Day 3: Executing the ISMS implementation

Day 4: ISMS monitoring, continual improvement, and preparation for the certification audit

Day 5: Certification exam preparation

Upon completing the course, delegates will receive an exam voucher, allowing them to schedule their online exam at a convenient date and time via the PECB online exams app.

The “PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer” exam aligns with the requirements of the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP). It assesses proficiency across the following competency domains:

• Domain 2: Information Security Management System (ISMS)
• Domain 3: Planning an ISMS implementation based on ISO/IEC 27001
• Domain 4: Implementing an ISMS based on ISO/IEC 27001
• Domain 5: Monitoring and measurement of an ISMS based on ISO/IEC 27001
• Domain 6: Continual improvement of an ISMS based on ISO/IEC 27001
• Domain 7: Preparing for an ISMS certification audit

PECB ISO/IEC 27001 Certification Path and Requirements

After successfully passing the exam, you may apply for one of four professional credentials based on your level of experience. All credentials require passing the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer Exam (or an approved equivalent) and signing the PECB Code of Ethics.

1. Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Provisional Implementer

This credential is suitable for individuals who have mastered the theoretical aspects but lack practical field experience.

• Exam Requirement: Pass the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer Exam (or equivalent)

• Professional Experience: Not required

• ISMS Project Experience: Not required

• Additional Requirement: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics

2. Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Implementer

This credential is intended for professionals with foundational, hands-on experience in information security implementation.

• Exam Requirement: Pass the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer Exam (or equivalent)

• Professional Experience: Two years total, including at least one year of specific work experience in Information Security Management

• ISMS Project Experience: A minimum of 200 hours of qualifying project activities

• Additional Requirement: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics

3. Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer

This is the standard credential for experienced professionals qualified to lead and manage an organization's entire ISMS implementation process.

• Exam Requirement: Pass the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer Exam (or equivalent)

• Professional Experience: Five years total, including at least two years of specific work experience in Information Security Management

• ISMS Project Experience: A minimum of 300 hours of qualifying project activities

• Additional Requirement: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics

4. Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Senior Lead Implementer

This is the highest-tier credential, designed for expert practitioners with comprehensive, long-term leadership experience in the industry.

• Exam Requirement: Pass the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer Exam (or equivalent)

• Professional Experience: Ten years total, including at least seven years of specific work experience in Information Security Management

• ISMS Project Experience: A minimum of 1,000 hours of qualifying project activities

• Additional Requirement: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics
